Chip seals are the single most cost effective solution for roadway maintenance. A chip seal provides an ideal all weather surface, renews old pavements, improves skid resistance, and seals out deficiencies of the old paved surface. Installation is quick; a road is swept and sprayed with an emulsified asphalt, a fractured aggregate is then placed and rolled to seat the aggregate. The finished surface is then swept to remove any loose chips. This method of maintenance can be applied as a single layer or as multiple layers and installation are completed within the day. A chip seal is excellent for light to medium traffic roads without curbs in rural areas.

Roaron Construction also installs unique chip seal system using rubberized asphalt and finer aggregates called Infra-Roadshield. The finer aggregate produces an eye pleasing surface and because it does not bleed, colours can be integrated into the seal. Infra-Roadshield is suitable for pedestrian and light traffic areas.
